Our history

Following recommendation of President of Kazakhstan, Mittal Steel (now ArcelorMittal) considered construction of pipe mill in free economic zone “Sea Port Aktau”.
Already in May 2004 года АО «Mittal Steel» and Government of Kazakhstan entered into Agreement to build first ever pipe mill to meet needs of oil& gas industry of the country.
The new venture was registered under the name “NefteGazTruba” in the same year and the facility was built by specialists of Mittal Steel Temirtau. It should be noted that at first the company was making part of Mittal Steel Temirtau even if located in Aktau

4 October 2006: official opening ceremony by Head of State

After creation of Tubular Division of ArcelorMittal in 2008 «NefteGazTruba» was included into newly formed division and was made part of the group of the mills producing pipe for oil& gas industry. At the same time, the name of the venture was changed to «ArcelorMittal Tubular Products Aktau».

2010

Obtained license of American Petroleum Institute to use monogram API 5L
Obtained Certificates of compliance with GOST Specifications 20295 and 52079 for oil and gas pipelines

2011

Start of production for Almaty-Baiserke-Talgar gas pipeline, the first and still the only gas pipeline of Kazakhstan that used pipes of domestic origin.
Successful trial production of pipe X80 PSL 2, first ever in history of Kazakhstan

2012

Prequalification as supplier by KPO
Production of pipe for Beyneu- Bozoi- Shymkent gas pipeline
Conclusion of master agreement with TCO
